HAIRCARE ROUTINE

The fall semester '15 has finally come to an end. I’ve managed to complete the semester with all A’s and B’s and I’m pretty damn proud of myself. Now that I officially have a month off of school, I’m feeling more determined to show more love to my blog and YouTube channel. The first video I wanted to get done was my haircare routine. My hair is something I really try to take care of since I’m a firm believer that hair is an accessory to your look. If my hair looks like poop, I feel like poop. Lol I’ve finally found products that have really been working with my hair, so I’m here to share them with you guys!

So without further ado, here is my haircare routine!

NSU FASHION SHOW ‘15

When NAACP reached out to me and asked me to be the lead stylist in NSU’s yearly fashion show, I was so surprised. Never would I have though someone would be asking me that question, especially since I’ve never styled for a fashion show before. With no doubt, I said yes 100 times.

Preparing for the fashion show consisted of three short months. In the beginning, it seemed like we had all the time in the world to prepare but sooner than we knew, the final day was approaching. After meetings, planning, model auditions, fittings, practice, and rehearsals, the day was finally here. September 30th 2015. I’ll never forget the satisfaction of seeing those girls walk down the runway in what I picked out.

Throughout the whole process of preparing for the fashion show and delivering our hard work to everyone, I’ve appreciated every single moment. Of course I would be lying if I said that every moment was enjoyable, but looking back, every moment was definitely worth it. I really learned a lot of things about myself and the outside world through this process. I learned that working with people has got to be the hardest task ever (and I really mean EVER). There were moments where I felt like I was getting stepped on or like my time was being wasted but in those moments, I also learned that I have a voice. I learned that I need to speak up when I feel like things aren’t fair because that’s the only way things are going to be fixed. Besides the negatives, I also learned about the positives. I learned that I really enjoyed styling for others. The whole process of picking out clothes that complimented others to helping everyone get dressed back stages so that they look perfect on the runway, I enjoyed every single second. Hopefully this opportunity and experience is the beginning of something really amazing <3

Finally, I would like to show you all the hard work everyone has put into this fashion show!

I want to give a special thanks to Nicole. Without you, I would have never got to have this opportunity and experience. Through every rough patch I faced, I knew I had to follow through to the end because disappointing you as not an option. Thank you for being the sweetest person out there, for believing in me, for always offering a helping hand, and for all the support. For having such a kind hearted and amazing daughter, I know your dad is so proud looking down at you.

INTRODUCING MY FIRST YOUTUBE VIDEO

I’ve been watching beauty videos on YouTube for years now and I always found it so interesting how these girls and guys would put up helpful tips and tutorials to teach others around the world. I have always wanted to start my own YouTube channel but my shyness of speaking to a camera always played a huge factor. That’s how my blog came into play. It was a way to get my voice out there and share with others my tips and fashion without actually talking. My voice was typed through words and the pictures I shared were motionless.

Recently, my parents bought me my first DSLR camera (thank you so much, mom and dad!) and at that moment, I thought it would be a perfect idea to do my first video. I told myself that I should just put every factor that made me not want to do a video aside and just to do it. So that’s why I’m making this post to finally introduce to you my first video!

I decided to make a video on my everyday eyebrow routine since I get a lot of request and questions from friends on how I do my eyebrows. In no way am I saying this is the correct way or that my eyebrow technique is perfect, it’s just how I do mines.

So without further ado, here is my first every YouTube video!
